- 1 shallot (medium, about 1/3 cup chopped)
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 lb. cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 Golden Delicious apple

Finely chop the shallot.
3.2 Stove
Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the shallot and cook until slightly softened, 2-3 minutes. Stir in the cranberries, granulated and brown sugars, cider, cinnamon, and allspice.
