2. Ingredients for Cajun Pasta

  • 150 gr. tagliatelle or other pasta

  • 1/2 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, seeded chopped
  • 150 gr. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 cayenne pepper, whole
  • 14 ozs. crushed tomatoes
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

3. Directions:

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water for 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. On low heat, saute together the onion and bell pepper.
  3. Once translucent, add the ground beef.
  4. When the ground beef is halfway cooked, add the thyme, rosemary, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Add the canned tomatoes and simmer another 10 minutes
  6. Mix the drained pasta with the cajun sauce. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese.
