How To Bake Bacon In The Oven: What You Should Know

The oven is how I always cook my bacon! Just be aware that the bacon will take longer, so plan ahead a little. The bacon grease can be reused to sauté vegetables or eggs for added flavor when baked because it stays nice and clean.

How To Bake Bacon In The Oven

1 package (16 ounces) of bacon

Ingredients

Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C). Use parchment paper to cover a baking sheet. On the baking sheet that has been prepared, arrange the bacon slices in a row. Bake for 15–20 minutes in the preheated oven. With kitchen tongs, remove the bacon slices from the oven, flip them over, and then put them back in.

Directions

Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until crispy. A total of 20 minutes will be needed for thinner slices. Drain onto a dish covered in paper towels.

Directions

As the bacon will shrink when baked, if you are making a lot of bacon, the slices may slightly overlap. Once cool, pour the bacon grease into a jar. Use in place of oil and keep in the refrigerator.

Because it makes cleanup simple, baking bacon on parchment paper is the best method. Simply roll all that grease up into the center of the parchment paper and discard it once you're finished and it has cooled.

What Should I Use? A Baking Sheet Or Parchment Paper?

A baking sheet works, and we love to reduce waste, but cleaning up takes longer because you have to scrub all the grease off of the mat's two sides.
