Panna cotta is such an easy and elegant make-ahead dessert for any special occasion, from Christmas dinner to the Fourth of July!

How To Make Panna Cotta

3 cups heavy cream 1 cup whole milk 3 Tbsp cold water 4 tsp gelatin 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract Pinch salt

Ingredients:

Add the gelatin to a bowl of cold water and mix right away and soak for 5 mins.

Stir heavy cream, milk and sugar together in a saucepan. Set over medium heat and bring to a boil; watch carefully as the cream can quickly bubble up and boil over.

Immediately following heat the gelatin mixture in the microwave for 10 seconds to melt mixture to liquid form

and then right away stir the gelatin mixture into boiling cream, stirring until completely dissolved. Cook and stir for 1 minute.

Set saucepan over ice bath and stir with a spoon until it’s cool to the touch. Stir in vanilla.

Instruction:

Divide the panna cotta mixture between the ramekins. Transfer to the ramekins to the fridge and chill for at least 4 hours until set, or overnight.

This dessert can be served straight from the cups it’s chilled in or unmolded and inverted into dessert plates.

Top with a berry sauce if desired. Other delicious toppings would be a blueberry sauce, mango sauce or strawberry sauce.
