I have lost my voice. I am not sure what this portends for the coming week. At least my kids won’t have me raising my voice in order to prod them into doing their chores (aka yelling)or homework (aka bellowing) or to suggest their getting along (aka shrieking). Hopefully, my own version of sign language will get them moving or I might just end up in a straight jacket from excess frustration (take a breath, Viki B).
Today is a quiet cooking day, I am putting soup fixings in the crock pot and the gluten eaters will get it with a slice of bread and butter. Split pea soup has long been a comfort soup for me. My kids will eat it, but don’t adore it. That means that I will get to eat soup for lunch the rest of the week. I’m okay with that. I should mention that my split peas are old. That means they take longer to cook, so I will start the soup early and cook it on high until they are done.
