2. Ingredients for Fat-Free Baked Apples with No Sugar Added

  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 4 Granny Smith apples (large)
  • 2 packets Stevia
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 lemon (for juice)
  • 2 Tbsp. no-sugar-added apple juice (or cider)

3. Directions:

3.1 Preheat

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

3.2 Prep

Spray a 9-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Peel and core the apples. Slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick slices, then arrange in an even layer in the baking dish.

Sprinkle the apple slices with the stevia, cinnamon, and salt. Squeeze the juice from the lemon half over the apples, then pour the apple juice over the apples.

Cover the baking dish with a sheet of aluminum foil.

3.3 Oven

Bake the apples on middle rack of oven for 20 minutes.

Carefully remove the foil and stir the apples, spooning the juice over the top. Return the apples to oven and continue baking until apples are fork-tender, 15-20 minutes.

3.4 Check

Check to see that apples are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.

Allow the baked apples to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
