Recipe For Triple Chocolate Crock Pot Cake

Triple Chocolate Crock Pot Cake

I love how my house smells when the slow cooker is running. Usually a gorgeous roast or pot of beans with a ham bone is the fare of the day. The aromas permeate the entire house giving it a homey feeling. However, when I turn my crock pot into a dessert machine, everyone starts walking around with bowls and spoons clamoring for something chocolate. The tantalizing smells say “Eat all of your dinner because dessert is going to be great!”

I love how easy this recipe is. You throw the ingredients into a bowl and stir. There is no need to turn on a mixer. Pour the batter into the crock pot, turn it on and forget about it. The last time I made this, I lined my crock pot with foil and then sprayed the foil generously with PAM. The foil made the clean up a breeze and allowed me to get all the leftovers out easily.

My family calls this “Cake meets brownies.” The cake is super moist, almost like a steamed pudding. The flavor is pure chocolate. You could easily substitute flavors. Use a yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding and a different variety of chips. Peanut butter, vanilla or butterscotch would be great and give you an entirely different dessert each time.
