2. Ingredients for Blackberry Smash
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
- 4 blackberries
- 2 oz. bourbon
- .5 oz. blackberry syrup
- .5 oz. St. Germain Elderflower liqueur
- 2 splashes of ginger beer
3. Directions:
- To make the blackberry syrup: In a small pot combine the blackberries, water and sugar. Stir ingredients and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and let cool for 4 minutes.
- Place in a blender and blend on high speed for 3 minutes. Strain mixture and then stir in lime juice. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- To assemble the cocktails: In each of two glasses, place two blackberries at the bottom and muddle until smashed and juice is extracted.
- Fill the glasses with ice, and then add the whiskey, blackberry syrup, St. Germain and stir for a few minutes
until chilled. Finish each with a splash of ginger beer on top.
