In about a month and a half, my family is having its first family reunion. We settled on Galveston for the location. One of my brothers lives in Houston, so it is close enough that we can pop over to his house if we need anything important, you know, like a slow cooker or griddle. I am very excited to spend a week with my whole family. There is just one problem: I need to lose a few unwanted pounds that I have gathered since January.
As part of my new routine, I bought a supply of Greek yogurt and have started having a smoothie for breakfast. The protein of the yogurt stays with me until lunch. It’s a great way to start the day. It means that you will see a few more smoothie recipes here on the blog. Considering that I had one, I think it won’t hurt, too much. We all need a quick, yummy breakfast once in a while, right?
You didn’t expect me to have simply, run-of-the-mill smoothies, did you? Boredom is my foe and I am not about to let him have reign over my breakfast drinks. You also won’t find me drinking anything green. I understand the wonders of kale; really, I love it. I am not planning to drink it, though. I’d much rather start the day with an oatmeal cookie!
