Recipe For Texas Sheet Cake

When my husband celebrated his last birthday, Texas sheet cake was the cake he wanted. I was more than happy to comply. This has to be one of the easiest cakes to make. It always turns out and it is always a crowd pleaser.

Often this cake has a chocolate, fudgy frosting. In our family, though, we prefer a boiled butter vanilla icing. It compliments the chocolate quite well. It is also cute with the birthday sprinkles.

As the name implies, this cake is made in a jelly roll pan. It could conceivably serve many, many people. Over the holidays, it served 14 and was gone by lunch the next day. Yup, mine is a family that loves their dessert.
