When I was a little girl, we lived in Thailand. I was too young to take quinine to prevent malaria, so my parents invented this drink using quinine water. My dad called me “peanut,” so the name they chose for this concoction was the Peanut Pizazz. I had no idea that it was preventing a disease. I just knew it was a special drink named after me and it was DELICIOUS!! My parents continued to make it for me long after we returned to the states
It is surprisingly refreshing even if you aren’t fighting a tropical disease. You can find Schwepps Quinine on the soda pop aisle of any big grocery store, but DO NOT drink it if you are pregnant, use soda water instead. Quinine is considered dangerous to unborn children.
This is a great alternative to real pop. Tang still has tons of sugar of course, but it at least has vitamin C in it!! Kids love to make it themselves, too. It’s a great summer drink.
