Recipe For Lemon Ice Cream

Every year, my husband’s mother’s side of the family has a huge reunion. Over 100 people attend from all over the western United States. They usually gather in Idaho at a favorite campground near a beautiful lake. Once in a while, the family chooses another place, like Oregon or California. One thing that never changes, however, is the potluck dinner with homemade ice cream for dessert. At least three families will opt to make Great Grandma’s recipe for vanilla ice cream with a hint of lemon.

I have altered the recipe to suit Florida. It would be considered blasphemy if I actually called this “her” recipe, but I am not in Idaho and I am not at the reunion. Heck! I am only an in-law anyway! So this is Lemon Ice Cream based on an old family recipe. That sounds good, right?!
