  • 1 beef cross-rib chuck roast (3 lb.)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. butter (softened)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth (plus 1/2 cup if needed)

3.1 Prep

Season the roast liberally on all sides with the salt and black pepper. Allow to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before roasting.

Preheat the oven to 400°F.
