2. Ingredients for Hungarian Goulash

  • 3 lbs stew meat or Chuck steak/roast cubed
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 T. Minced garlic
  • 4 T flour
  • 1 T. Hungarian paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • 28 oz. diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. Liquid gravy browner
  • 1 T beef bullion powder
  • 2 tsp. Sugar
  • 4 T lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 c. Sour cream
  • Caraway seeds to taste (optional)

3. Directions:

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in slow cooker. Stir well to coat the beef and onion in flour
  2. Combine tomatoes, gravy browner, boullion powder, lemon juice and sugar together and pour over beef mixture.
  3. Stir, cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours
  4. Spoon off a few spoonfuls of liquid. Add to sour cream. Stir and pour back into the slow cooker. Stir before serving.
  5. Serve over boiled egg noodles
